Here's my review of last night's gig by The Way of All Flesh, which I have submiited to Teletext.
The Way of All Flesh
Purple Turtle, Camden
VoidView by Stuart Moses
When Sheffield's finest purveyors of unashamed gothic rock took the stage, the denizens of London had the chance to discover what the rest of the country already knows: that bitter songs about relationships gone wrong can taste sweet when served with such esprit de corps. The Way of All Flesh may explore negative experiences, but they do so with such enthusiasm you can't help smiling. With their own material full of epic emotion, a cover of Billy Idol's White Wedding sounded frivolous in comparison, doubtless this was the band's intent.
