... because I'm always pleased when I find a 90s goth band I thought had gone is still going. See also: The Wake.

Star Industry signs to Alfa Matrix

Over the last 10 years, Belgium's best gothic rock export to date, STAR INDUSTRY have built a strong reputation for their live performances through numerous appearances across Europe in the scenes biggest festivals (M’era Luna, WGT, Gotham, Eurorock, Dour, Carnival of Souls, Suikerrock, Alive, etc.). They have shared the stage with bands like Front 242, Paradise Lost, Praga Khan, Sisters Of Mercy, Echo & The Bunnymen, Covenant, etc and have a couple of timeless club hits ("Nineties", etc.) to their credit as well. It is with a very mature sound and refined production work from none other than Luc Van Acker that this Belgian combo marks its return in 2007 with a much anticipated 3rd studio album entitled "Last Crusades" on Alfa Matrix.

STAR INDUSTRY’s new opus offers a collage of strong new gothic anthems led by extremely catchy choruses, powerful song arrangements, intricate electronic loops, incisive guitars, dark synth lines and carrying drum patterns. Even though the band has long established their very own distinctive sound, the singer’s voice will surely continue bringing them comparisons to SISTERS OF MERCY’s Andrew Eldritch, while the music will evoke other Goth Rock legends like FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM and PARADISE LOST.

The return of STAR INDUSTRY, with "Last Crusades" in hand, once again establishes the band’s prominent position on the top of today’s gothic rock scene. Straight, dark and powerful for your ultimate pleasure.

Zodiac Mindwarp? Did I miss a memo? I know he played Whitby, but I didn't understand that either. I enjoyed 'Prime Mover' but can someone please explain why he's headlining? Or should I say why he's said to be headlining? It could be anyone...

I'd like to see Garden of Delight, never having seen them before. NFD and Voices of Masada I've seen loads of times, but I never tire of either, so am looking forward to seeing them again. Zeitgeist Zero are held in high regard by [livejournal.com profile] kev36663, who is usually reliable about such things.

I can't say the first day appeals though, I don't really know anything about the bands. [livejournal.com profile] goth_tart kindly sent me the latest In The Nursery album for me to review for Hard Wired. I had a quick listen and it was OK, but I've passed it to someone else to actually review.

EDIT: Actually I'm quite glad Zodiac Mindwarp are headlining as it means I can leave early without missing anything I want to see.
